The Darkness will open for ONE NIGHT ONLY - Friday, February 3rd, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00pm for a "Behind the Screams" Tour. This experience starts promptly at 6:00pm with a question and answer seminar featuring Larry Kirchner of The Darkness/St. Louis Escape and special guest Dwayne Sanburn - owner of the 13th Gate Haunted House/Escape Room. Guests can ask questions about haunted houses or escape rooms. Starting at 6:55 pm guests will enter The Darkness under show lights with no fog or actors. Guests can explore the haunted house including Terror Visions 3D, and our all-new Horror Gift Store. Guests can take pictures and videos.
Additionally each guest will be given Hauntworld Magazines ($19.95 value) and How to Haunt DVDs ($49.95 value) for FREE courtesy of FearTicket.com.

What’s new at The Darkness 2023? We’ve added three new scenes, several props, animations, and since last Transworld we have expanded our Horror Gift store. Our staff will be on hand at the exit of The Darkness to answer questions about the haunted house or the Horror Gift store. At St. Louis Escape we have added Jurassic Island escape room. Currently The Darkness is being renovated with FOUR new scenes! We’ve purchased over $200,000 in new props from Ghost Ride, Unit 70, Poison Props, Scarefactory and many other vendors. New scenes are replacing BLACK MAZES (2) - GREEN HOUSE and CRYPT.
St. Louis Escape's NEW Jurassic Island escape room wasn’t open during Transworld last year and is NOW OPEN. Additionally our Retro Mini Golf is getting NEW HOLES and will be completed prior to Transworld.
St. Louis Escape is replacing the Haunted Hotel with Curse of Sleepy Hollow. It will not be completed prior to Transworld 2023.
